There are several ways for foreigner to obtain long term stay in Malaysia namely the Malaysian Second Home Program (MM2H), Malaysian local private limited company (Sdn Bhd) work permit and Labuan company work permit (or sometimes is called Labuan director visa)

To obtain a Labuan director visa or work permit, first of all, you have to setup a Labuan company. Once company is ready and bank account is setup, you can start to apply for the Labuan director visa or work permit.

The estimated timeline (In 3 stages) is as per below.

1) Company registration- about 1 week

2) Bank account opening- about 2 weeks

3) Work permit application- about 2-3 months.

Once the application is approved, you shall then have to fly to Labuan to get your Labuan director visa or work permit stamped on your passport. The visa shall grant you the entry permit to Labuan and West Malaysia (which include cities like Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Penang) for the duration of two years.
