Malaysia Labuan Employment Pass

Do you need an employment pass for you or your employees? We got you covered. This is one of the numerous services that MCS offers its client. Malaysia’s employment pass is a legal document that allows foreigners to work in Malaysia.
The Malaysian employment pass gives foreigners the freedom to accept gainful employment in any business organization in Labuan Malaysia. However, before the Malaysian government would grant an employment pass, the employee must give an important reason why that employee is vital to their company.

Before you can get employed by a company in Malaysia, your employer must get approval from the Malaysian government to hire you.

There are three categories of employment pass
• Employment pass I: This requires that the worker have a fixed monthly salary of at least R10000 and a valid employment contract of 5 years
• Employment pass II: This requires that the worker have a fixed monthly salary of R5000-R9999 and a valid employment contract of 2 years
• Employment pass III: This requires that the worker have a fixed monthly salary of R3000-R4999 and a valid employment contract of 12 months

Requirements for a Malaysia employment pass
It is crucial to have the following qualifications to be considered for the Malaysia employment pass;
• You must have sufficient educational skills required for the job. The minimum requirements is a bachelor degree or higher
• It is necessary to have a minimum of 3 years of experience. Diploma holders are required to have 5 years of experience
• You must meet the salary requirements
• You must bit take up work in a sector which is considered restricted.

How do you apply?
Your employer is in charge of submitting the application on your behalf in Malaysia before you travel down to Malaysia. There are 2 stages in your Malaysian employment pass application;
1. Since there is a limit to the number of foreigners you can employ in a company, your employer has to seek approval from the Expatriate Committee (EC).
2. Once your application gets approved, your employer has to submit the employment pass Malaysia application at the immigration department of Malaysia
